Mancession! An Illustrated Analysis

The Great Recession has been rotten for millions of Americans, but it's been particularly rotten for one pretty significant demographic: Men. What is the mancession, how serious is it and what caused it? Here are your answers: In pictures!

The mancession describes the accelerating trend of worse job losses among men. According to AEI scholar Christina Hoff Summer, 80 percent of all job losses in the last two years were among men -- not surprising, considering the implosion of manufacturing and the housing construction bust. How about a link out to the AEI study? The numbers seem high to me, but the post I read about this is now a month old. It was a good take on the gender of job loss worldwide; this trend isn't only happening in the US. http://www.newdeal20.org/?p=2960
