Fox News seems to have a real problem with cutting old footage into new stories. The liberal theory is that this is some sort of concerted conspiracy to imply that 80 million Americans turn out for every Tea Party or Sarah Palin appearance. The conservative line is that they were simply trying to punch up an otherwise dull segment, and/or somehow ran out of footage of the actual event. The latter story makes marginally more sense to me, but only because I cannot imagine that anyone at Fox News--indeed, anyone with a pulse--is stupid enough to imagine that a few shots of excess protesters are enough to marginally improve the chances of Republican victories in 2010 or 2012.
I'm not sure it really matters. Fox News was, I think, justifiably angry when the Obama administration declared that they were not a real news organization. But if you wanted to be treated like a real news organization, you have to abide by the rules that real news organizations follow. One of those rules is that you do not imply that images of one event actually come from an entirely different event. You don't do this for any reason.It's entirely true that other news organizations have been caught in sleazy tactics, like the infamous habit of wiring cars to explode during auto safety stories. But they were righteously yelled at, and since the advent of the right-wing blogosphere, they seem to do a lot less of it. Now the left-wing blogosphere is fact-checking Fox with the same ferocity, and that's a good thing. We all have a vested interest in better news organizations.
at least FNC came out and apologized for the mistake. The NYTimes has yet to apologize for the false reporting done by Walter Duranty during the Stalin years.
All news organizations fiddle with the facts. MSNBC, CNN, CNBC are jealous of the ratings numbers garnered by the FNC news segments and the opinion shows (OReilly, Hannity. Van Susteren)

Is that it? That's what you come up with? Something that happened in the Stalin years? MSNBC does not call itself a news organization. Fox does. They may have already apologized (mistake?), but that is not the first time they have done that exact same thing. They also did it for the Rep. health care meeting on the steps of the capital last week. They apologized for that too, but to John Stewart of Comedy Central, when they should have been apologizing to their audience, who they deceived.
How much stupider can you guys get asking if Fox is a new agency, when Charlie Gibson didn't even know what was going on acorn.. so which other news agencies told us about this corrupt ogranization that steals american taxpayers money pushing illegal enterprise?? IT WAS FOX!! they do look out after Americans interest like no other news source, and any that compares their news to the all the others will find more content news than all the others.. To me the biggest losers are those that follow the holy grail of Obamas mouth machine.. you know the one that claims all the job claims, that were made up!! IT was Fox that reported that Obama' web site to show where the non stimulous money went, cost $18 million for an update on the web site, when they had a quote for $600,000! So we americans are paying for a web site that is so inaccurate,Obama asked us to look at the big picture and not worry a out the aberations!!! spoken like someone that got caught with his hand in the wrong pocket!!

Did fox ever investigate the outing of a covert cia agent? No because that was done under a Repubs watch. Fox is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who became an American citizen so he could own media in this country. Everywhere he buys a newspaper, or tv station he gets involved in the politics of that country. Not to better the country, but to shape it to his liking. We who don't fall for the fox line are patriots, unlike the rest of you who support what a foreigner wants. As someone who is not American but who watches US channels (CNN, MSNBC, Fox etc) as well as BBC and Al jazeera I find that Fox is not so much a news channel as a propaganda channel for conservative right wing views. It is a disgrace that they call themselves fair and balanced. I also find MSNBC biased the other way but they don't call themselves fair and balanced.It doesn't matter what time of the day or what day I tune in to Fox it is running negative anti-Obama stories. You may not agree with Obama's policies on everything but it seems that he is simply seeking to do what he was elected to do and promised to do. It is as if some people have not accepted that he was elected at all! And what did he inherit from his predecessor:
An economy in free fall and a a financial system in meltdown - all the work of GW Bush
Two wars which have created the massive government deficit (by the way - why is it ok to create massive government deficits by spending on wars and weapons but not ok to spend on basic services to US citizens such as health care and education?)
A dysfunctional health system which is responsible for 62% of all bankruptcies and doesn't even provide universal coverage
A major challenge on the environment
A substandard public education system
I could go on - give Obama a break and support his attempt to improve America
Even MSNBC has right wing talk shows and the news is still slanted right. Only a few shows are center left. So there is no comparison with Fux that is all right wing all the time.
But there is another big difference in that actual reality is taken to have a Left wing slant primarily because Fux and others avoid it so assiduously. Like cigarettes they should have warning labels.

The Blue states pay more in taxes and generally have higher income levels and the Red states generally pay less in taxed and receive more from the Federal Government in benefits -- so it would be better for the rest of us to have you split off.
